Maya fell in love with breastfeeding after the birth of her first son. Bringing together her healthcare expertise, client-centered mindset, and drive for continuous personal improvement, she became a lactation consultant committed to helping new mothers achieve breastfeeding confidence and success.
Maya received her bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from the University of Rochester (where she met her husband) and her master’s degree in entrepreneurship from Simon Business School. She completed the UC San Diego program in lactation education in 2023, completed her clinical experience at an outpatient lactation clinic in the greater Chicago area, and officially became an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) in 2024.
Maya is passionate about breastfeeding not just for its many benefits for both mothers and babies but also for the way it connects women to one another across generations and around the world. In fact, Maya’s earliest experience working with breastfeeding dyads was as a peer counselor helping other new moms in her own community.

Maya is particularly passionate about prenatal education and believes preparation and support are the keys to breastfeeding success. It was her own prenatal breastfeeding class that set her on the path to confidence with breastfeeding, especially being sure in the knowledge of when to ask for help. She also really enjoys helping parents navigate the early weeks of breastfeeding as well as educating parents about starting solids. Feeding your baby should bring your family joy and fun!
Maya lives in Skokie, Illinois with her husband and three sweet children. A native of Upstate New York, she loves fall foliage, cozy sweaters, and a fresh cider doughnut. When she’s not working, you can find her taking her kids on little adventures and delighting in seeing the world through their eyes.
